Privacy Policy
Effective: July 3, 2026 / Last updated: August 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") describes how YokkoLab (operated by Satoshi Yokokawa) (the "Operator", "we") handles user information in the mobile application "Pointia" (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
The App uses your location only when you save a point and while the map is showing your current location, and does not continuously track your location while the App is closed or in the background.
1. Information We Collect
- Location: when you create a save point, and while the map screen is displaying your current location.
- Photos: only when you optionally attach them to a save point (one per save on Free, up to 10 on Premium).
- Display name and adventurer icon: values you configure.
- Anonymous Firebase Auth uid: automatically issued at first launch; optionally linked to Google or Apple ID.
- Account info from Google / Apple sign-in: if you link an account, we receive the email address and display name provided by Google or Apple. With Apple you may choose "Hide My Email".
- Push notification token: a device identifier used to deliver notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Diagnostic and usage logs: crash reports, in-app events, device model, OS version, etc.
- Advertising identifiers and related data: device information processed by AdMob to serve ads on the Free plan, control frequency, measure performance, and prevent fraud. On iOS, whether the IDFA can be used depends on your App Tracking Transparency choice.
- Invite codes and party IDs: identifiers used to determine which parties you belong to, stored on our servers.
- Location coordinates for map display: coordinates are sent to Mapbox APIs to render the map and display addresses (reverse geocoding). See the Mapbox privacy policy for details.
2. Purpose of Use
- To display your save points on the map and let you look back on your history.
- To let you share save points with fellow members who join a party by invite code.
- To deliver push notifications (new shared saves, invitations, party pings, memorial reminders, etc.).
- To detect issues early and improve features.
- For quality improvement of the App and for support responses.
- To serve ads on the Free plan, measure advertising performance, and prevent fraud.
3. Information Shared With Other Users
When you save with a party as a destination, members of that party can view your save points (coordinates, time, adventurer icon, display name, notes, photos). Save points recorded only to "My Records" are not shared with other users.
4. Handling of Location Data
- Location is obtained when you tap "Save" and while the map screen is displaying your current location. It is used to show your position on the map and to store the coordinates of your save points.
- We do not obtain your location while the App is closed or in the background.
- You can revoke the location permission at any time from within the App or your device settings.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services. Each processes information under its own privacy policy.
- Firebase (Authentication / Firestore / Cloud Functions / Storage / Cloud Messaging / Analytics / Crashlytics / App Check) — Google LLC
- Sign in with Apple — Apple Inc.
- Google Sign-In — Google LLC
- Mapbox (map rendering, reverse geocoding) — Mapbox, Inc.
- RevenueCat (subscription management) — RevenueCat, Inc.
- Google AdMob (ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention) — Google LLC. On iOS, the App shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt at launch; personalized ads using the IDFA are served only if you allow tracking. If you decline, only non-personalized ads are shown.
6. Retention and Deletion
Your save history and party data are stored in Firebase while you retain your account. Using the in-app account deletion feature will delete all of your data that we hold. When you leave a party, your member info and any shared saves tied to that party are deleted.
7. Security Measures
We protect user information with industry-standard measures such as encrypted communication (HTTPS), Firestore security rules, and App Check verification.
8. International Transfers
Data may be processed on the servers of providers we use (such as Google) outside your country. In such cases, appropriate protective measures apply.
9. Children's Use
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from such children.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, please contact us below.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Policy as needed. Revised versions take effect when posted on this page.
